Canadian Business Investors Immigration

According to the mutual agreements between Canada and other nations, not all countries are treated the same way. Therefore, we can offer you the necessary information on this category based on your country of citizenship and residency. Frequently, candidates are qualified for various programs, and we will assist you in selecting the most appropriate immigration channel to achieve the desired outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • There is no requirement for a minimum investment or net worth.
  • Only ‘Significant Investment’ based on the industry/region is needed.
  • Must have at least 51% worth of shares in new or established business;
  • Candidate coming to Canada to ‘develop and direct’ the venture;
  • Must have at least one Canadian employee in the new business;
  • The applicant must possess some level of industry knowledge or experience.

Benefits

  • Net worth and education requirements are not part of the qualifying criteria;
  • Applicants are not forced to take IELTS/TEF tests (However, one should be able to converse with Canadian customs officials upon arrival);
  • Applicants are at liberty to choose the city they want to live or invest in;
  • Applicants are not pitted against each other;
  • Third parties cannot verify home nation assets;
  • There is no need for an exploratory trip or interview before the approval of a work visa.

Drawbacks

  • There is no straight route to a nomination for PR;
  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 must be achieved in all four categories to be eligible for a one-year work permit in Canada under the Express Entry FSW program. If an applicant’s spouse is working but not a shareholder, there are other alternatives for them;
  • When a candidate decides to convert to a Permanent Resident (PR) through Express Entry after a minimum of one year of work experience, all of the advantages described as not mandatory in the benefits section become mandatory. There is no alternative way to convert to PR. The candidate’s spouse may be eligible to apply for permanent residency if they have worked in Canada and passed an IELTS or TEF test.
